Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for the 2026-27 school year. This contract opportunity is designed for dedicated SLP-CCC or CFY candidates passionate about working with PreK, elementary, middle, and high school students. Teletherapy and on-site options may be available, providing the flexibility to connect with students in person or virtually.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program Valid state licensure or eligibility in Speech-Language Pathology SLP-CCC or completing Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) welcome School-based SLP experience or strong interest in educational settings Proficient in pediatric speech/language assessment and intervention Experience or strong skills with teletherapy platforms (preferred) Effective communication and collaboration abilities
Responsibilities and Duties:
Provide speech and language therapy to a diverse caseload of 50-55 students across PreK, elementary, and secondary levels Conduct assessments, develop individualized plans, and maintain comprehensive therapy records Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to maximize student success Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary educational teams Utilize both in-person and teletherapy methods to deliver services when needed Facilitate progress monitoring and adapt strategies according to student needs This assignment spans school sites in the Vanceboro, New Bern, and Havelock areas, with outreach into surrounding communities such as James City, Newport, Merrimon, Havelock, Emerald Isle, and Cedar Island, NC. Work on a consistent weekly schedule of 37.5 hours, supporting students' communication growth throughout the academic year.
