North Carolina State Salary Schedule (plus local supplement)

Exempt Qualifications/Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited Speech/Language Pathology program Possess a certificate of clinical competence in speech/language pathology granted ASHA Current license as a Speech/Language Pathologist in the state(s) of practice (or temporary licensure if beginning clinical fellowship year in NC) Ability to contribute as a team member and ability to work independently Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills Knowledge of the regulatory requirements at the state, federal, and local level
Goal:
To assist students with special communicative needs working collaboratively with school personnel to accomplish speech-language goals and objectives.
Duties:
Follow all rules, policies and procedures of Lincoln County Schools including state and federal regulations and IDEA Conduct screening and evaluations, obtain diagnostic information, analyze information and make recommendations regarding special education programs and related services Develop individual education plans (IEP0 for eligible speech-language students in collaboration with the classroom teacher, parent, LEA representative and other pertinent professionals Plan speech-language therapy and use appropriate diagnostic tools and therapy techniques to support the curriculum Team with support specialists, teachers, and other school personnel in the delivery of services; plan, conduct, and assist in staff development activities Provide appropriate information on an informal or formal basis regarding speech, language, and hearing programs and services Organize the school program, cooperate with others to accomplish its goals, coordinate program services with other student services, and maintain records in accordance with established rules, regulations, and ethical standards Maintain Medicaid billing profiles and therapy notes on all Medicaid eligible students using the designated billing service for the district Provide consultation to parents, teachers, other school personnel, and community agencies to enhance the learning and adjustment of students Make recommendations and referrals for audiological/medical and related services Assist in the planning, development, and evaluation of programs to meet the identified learning and adjustment needs of students Participate in continuing education and growth activities related to speech-language-hearing and education and continually seek to improve professional knowledge and skills Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff Perform related duties and responsibilities as directed by the Director of Exceptional Children and/or principal Must be able to perform heavy work exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of forces frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to lift objects Other duties as assigned
