Job Description
Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract A unique contract opportunity awaits experienced Speech-Language Pathologists passionate about school-based services near Matthews, NC. Three SLP professionals are needed to work in dynamic educational environments starting August 24th, 2026 through June 4th, 2027, with the possibility for additional days for pre/post planning.
Available Assignments:
High School Assignment:
Part-time at a high school serving students with moderate to severe disabilities. Approximately 25-35 students, most on support plans rather than direct therapy. The role includes collaborating closely with an experienced, compassionate SLP, specializing in AAC/Speech Generating Devices. Expertise working with nonverbal, minimally verbal students, and multiple communication systems is essential. Flexible scheduling—ideal for one or two full days per week, with the potential to combine with other placements for expanded hours.Elementary School Assignment:
Pending location confirmation (expected in about a month). This will involve supporting elementary-aged students, with caseload details to follow.Spanish-English Bilingual Assignment:
Pending school location. This position requires fluency in both Spanish and English, with the opportunity to serve a diverse caseload of students requiring bilingual support.What We're Looking For:
Valid NC State License and Educator Certification required SLP-CCC credential is a must (SLP-CFYs or SLPAs are not eligible at this time) Demonstrated school-based SLP experience, including work with AAC devices (for high school placement) Bilingual capability (Spanish-English) for the third assignment Strong communication and collaborative skills Adaptability, compassion, and dedication to student success This is an exciting chance to make a meaningful difference in a supportive, flexible school setting, working alongside outstanding peers.
