Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathologist for the upcoming fall semester. Bring your expertise to an engaging school-based setting near Elizabeth, NJ, providing essential therapy services as part of a 12-week contract starting in September 2026. This full-time role (35+ hours per week) is focused on coverage for maternity leave, with three positions available—two at elementary schools with significant Autism and preschool populations (K-5), and a third assignment to be determined onsite. Preferred candidates hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), but Clinical Fellows (CFs) are welcome to apply if they can secure supervision independently, as district supervision is not available. Please note, SLPAs are not eligible for this role.
Key Qualifications:
Valid NJ Speech-Language Pathologist License Valid NJ Speech-Language Specialist (SLS) Certification Experience with school-based SLP services, preferably in autism and early childhood/preschool settings Ability to work onsite in an elementary school environment CCC highly valued; CFs must provide their own supervision arrangements Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills Adaptable, compassionate, and committed to supporting diverse student needs Your responsibilities will include: Conducting comprehensive speech-language assessments and therapy Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, teachers, and parents Documenting progress and maintaining compliance with state and district standards Supporting an inclusive, positive environment for students with a range of communication needs This contract offers a fulfilling school schedule with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in students' lives during a vital time in their educational journey.
