Job Description

General Position Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist to join our educational team. Under the general supervision of the Special Education Director, the Speech Language Pathologist provides direct and indirect service to students with speech/language disorders in order to improve communication as it relates to school tasks; intervention is provided in the students' academic environment and may include integrated service in the classroom, pullout sessions, collaboration with school staff, observation, and consultation to the IEP team. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive speech, language, voice, fluency, and communication assessments for students. Develop and implement individualized therapy plans in accordance with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, consultative, and support services for students with speech, language, and communication disorders. Collaborate with educators, parents/guardians, and multidisciplinary teams to support students' communication needs and educational success. Participate as a member of the IEP team in determining appropriate services, accommodations, goals, and objectives. Maintain records, materials, equipment, and treatment supplies. Remain current with best practices, methodologies, and research in the field to support professional growth and effective educational services. Inform and collaborate with principals, teachers, staff, and families regarding speech-language services and student progress. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, services provided, progress monitoring, and compliance requirements. Provide training, resources, and support to teachers and staff on strategies that facilitate communication and language development in the classroom. Assist in identifying students who may be at risk due to educational, physical, developmental, or communication-related limitations. Participate in the development and implementation of assessment procedures and evaluation processes. Complete educationally relevant assessments, including student observations, record reviews, interviews, and standardized and non-standardized testing procedures in areas of suspected disability, in accordance with Nevada State and Federal timelines and regulations. Prepare comprehensive evaluation reports in compliance with Nevada State and Federal timelines and requirements. Develop and implement therapy intervention plans designed to enable students to benefit from their educational programs and special education services. Provide services in individual and small-group settings within the least restrictive environment (LRE), as appropriate. Required Skills Strong leadership, advocacy, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations with professionalism, empathy, and discretion. Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices related to speech-language services. Required Experience and/or Education Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Current Nevada Speech-Language Pathologist license, or eligibility for Nevada licensure. Possession of or eligibility for the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred. Experience in a school-based setting preferred but not required. Knowledge of special education procedures, IEP development, and assessment practices. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, educators, and related service providers.
Pay:
$48,153.00 - $84,341.00 per year
