Salary:
$54,180 to $66,530 (plus a $500.00 stipend per year)
SUMMARY:
The Classroom Teacher possesses and displays the experience, ability, personality, energy and maturity to meet the everyday demands of students, curriculum, department, school and district. The Classroom Teacher is responsible for planning, delivering and assessing an educational program for individual and/or groups of students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties may be assigned. 1. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the subject area, curriculum and NYS Learning Standards in assigned content area. 2. Teacher demonstrates appropriate preparation employing the necessary instructional practices, materials, and activities. 3. Provides evidence that thorough lesson plans have been completed prior to instruction. 4. Demonstrates that delivery of instruction is supported by meaningful lesson plans and results in active student involvement, appropriate teacher/student interaction, and encourages student participation in the learning process. 5. Utilizes available resources and data to drive instruction. 6. Demonstrates classroom management skills supportive of diverse student learning needs, which create an environment conducive to student learning. 7. Demonstrates knowledge of student development, an understanding and appreciation of diversity and the regular application of developmentally appropriate instructional strategies for the benefit of all students. 8. Implements assessment techniques based on appropriate NYS Learning Standards designed to measure student progress in learning. 9. Demonstrates that practice is reviewed; effectively assessed and appropriate adjustments are made on a continuing basis. 10. Provides supervision of students both in and outside of the classroom in accordance with building and district expectations. 11. Reports to school on time. 12. Maintains confidentiality. 13. Actively supports CCSD Code of Conduct. 14. Participates, when appropriate, in continuous professional growth and development related to the field of teaching and/or specific area(s) of expertise. 15. Attends required meetings and follows building rules, procedures and district policies. 16. Maintains positive, cooperative and mutually supportive relationships with students, staff, caregivers, colleagues, district personnel and community. 17. Uses excellent written and oral English skills when communicating with students, staff, caregivers and community.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises classroom and students.

Performs related duties as required or assigned.
