Job Description

Speech Language Pathologist CFY Temporary Full Time Valhalla, NY WIHD's Assistive Technology Program at WIHD is looking for an SLP Clinical Fellow CFY to fill a one-year full-time position. Your mentored professional experience in our outpatient facility is the first step in becoming an independent provider of speech language pathology clinical services. The Clinical Fellow (CF) will receive direct supervision and guidance from an assigned supervisor. Ongoing support and expertise is provided throughout this year-long fellowship. We fulfill and exceed the state and ASHA requirements for supervision, ensuring a comprehensive and supportive experience to help you successfully complete your training as a skilled and independent clinician. As a Clinical Fellow, you will also have direct access to AAC equipment and standardized assessments, providing valuable opportunities to enhance your clinical skills and competency. About ATP at
WIHD:
The Assistive Technology Program Team conducts evaluations for individuals across the lifespan for the following: reading and writing, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), computer access, academic support as well as positioning of equipment.
Summary of Position:
Responsibilities include performing a weekly diagnostic evaluation and managing a therapy caseload of a diverse population of children and adults with developmental disabilities who are diagnosed with communication disorders.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of:
Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices, and methods of speech-language pathology; thorough knowledge of the diagnostic tests and therapeutic equipment used in treating speech disorders; skill in the use of speech evaluation instrumentation.
Education:
Master of Science or Arts in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
Physical Requirements:
Position will be required to stoop, bends, lifts, carry items weighing up to 25 pounds for routine performance of essential functions.
