You're compassionate, collaborative, and skilled in guiding individuals through customized rehabilitation plans. You're flexible, empathetic, and bring a positive attitude that helps residents feel encouraged and empowered. The Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats individuals with speech, language, voice and fluency impairments. This position requires excellent verbal and communication skills. Here's what you're responsible for: Performs hearing and/or speech and language examinations to learn the patient's degree of impairment. Diagnoses patients and formulates treatment plans for speech, language, fluency, voice or swallowing impairments. Develops individual and/or group activities and/or programs to manage behavior, speech, language or swallowing problems. Instructs clients with techniques for more effective communication, such as sign language, lip reading or voice improvement. Writes reports and maintains client information for the purposes of evaluation, treatment progress and discharge of client. Educates patients and family members about the various communication techniques or strategies to cope with the impairment. Performs administrative responsibilities, coordinates paperwork, writes lesson plans and schedules case management activities and/or any other appropriate patient information and/or recordkeeping for administrative, billing and caseload purposes. Required Education and Experience Education:
Graduate of an accredited therapy program
Experience:
3-5 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Licenses/Certifications:
