Job Description
Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract A dynamic opportunity is available for two Oregon Licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) to support student services in special education settings. These full-time positions require commitment to providing specialized speech and language services through direct instruction, assessment, and collaboration within school environments. Both roles work Monday through Friday for 8 hours daily, with an unpaid lunch break. One position is site-specific, while the other offers multiple assignment locations across Multnomah County, with flexibility for less than full-time employment for the latter.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess speech, language, and hearing abilities to develop and implement tailored Individual Education Programs (IEPs). Provide speech and language therapy and design relevant instructional materials. Implement and manage augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems aligned with students' unique needs. Collaborate closely with educators, service providers, parents, and external agencies. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and maintain accurate documentation for Medicaid billing and service records. Supervise Speech-Language Pathology Assistant staff. Ensure compliance with district policies and maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid Oregon SLP license with a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred. Experience in school-based speech-language pathology, especially within special education. Expertise in AAC system implementation and coaching. Strong interpersonal skills fostering equity, trust, and inclusive communication. Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and provide leadership in regional equity initiatives.Location:
Oregon City, OR, with assignments potentially at multiple sites within Multnomah County, including hospital programs and long-term care settings.
