Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)

34 hours per week | School Year 2026-2027

Start Date:
August 31, 2026 About the Role We are seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support students across the St. Helens School District. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to provide speech and language services to K-12 students. This is a great opportunity to join a supportive team in a close-knit, rural district where you can make a meaningful impact on student communication and development. Key Responsibilities Deliver direct speech and language therapy services under SLP supervision Support implementation of individualized treatment plans Assist with clinical, documentation, and educational activities Track and report student progress Collaborate with SLPs, educators, and support staff Travel between nearby school sites as needed within the district
Compensation Local Pay Rate:
$40/hour What to Expect Serve K-12 students across the district Primary assignment based at McBride Elementary School Occasional travel between nearby school sites (schools are in close proximity) Work alongside experienced SLPs in a supportive environment Full school-year assignment with consistent weekly hours Minimum Qualifications Associate's degree from an SLPA program or bachelor's degree in speech-language pathology or communication disorders Completion of at least 100 hours of supervised fieldwork (or equivalent clinical experience) Active SLPA certification or licensure in the State of Oregon At least 1 year of SLPA experience preferred Knowledge of and adherence to professional practice standards TB screening (if applicable) Current health clearance per state or contract requirements Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements Must be at least 18 years of age Why This Role Stands Out Supportive and collaborative team of SLPs Opportunity to make a direct impact on student communication skills Close-knit district with minimal travel between sites Consistent hours throughout the school year Great opportunity for both experienced SLPAs and those looking to grow in a school-based setting Benefits At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits: Competitive pay & weekly paychecks Health, dental, vision, and life insurance 401(k) savings plan Awards and recognition programs Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.
