Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Embark on a fulfilling opportunity supporting K-8 students as a long-term speech-language pathologist substitute in the vibrant Northeast Philadelphia area. This contract position covers August through December, making a lasting impact during a pivotal part of the school year. Work closely with an enthusiastic school team to manage a caseload of 40-50 students, assisting with communication development and transformative interventions. Reliable hours run Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 2:30 PM, allowing you to enjoy work-life balance during the school year. You'll receive a comprehensive training period during your first week, ensuring you feel fully prepared before students begin on September 8th.
Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid SLP license and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required Experience delivering speech and language services with school-age children, especially K-8 Strong communication skills and collaborative, team-oriented mindset Ability to adapt strategies for a diverse student population and varying needs Organizational skills for managing paperwork, progress notes, and caseload priorities
Duties & Responsibilities:
Deliver direct and consultative speech-language therapy services Assess student needs and document progress toward communication goals Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure cohesive student support Participate in IEP meetings and assist with documentation as needed Maintain an encouraging, inclusive, and supportive learning environment Be prepared for a smooth transition with paid training before the school year starts.
