The Speech & Language Therapist is responsible for delivering comprehensive speech and language therapy services to students who have been identified as requiring related services. Reporting directly to the building principal, the therapist works collaboratively with administrators, supervisors, instructional staff, and other stakeholders to support student communication needs and to carry out assigned responsibilities in alignment with district expectations and professional standards.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students' speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans aligned to student needs and IEP goals Provide direct and indirect speech-language therapy services in individual and group settings Document student progress and adjust interventions based on data and outcomes Serve as a member of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) team, contributing to eligibility, goal development, and service recommendations Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant records in accordance with federal, state, and district regulations (e.g., IDEA) Complete evaluation reports, progress reports, and Medicaid billing documentation (if applicable) Ensure services are delivered in alignment with IEP mandates and timelines Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, school psychologists, and families to support student communication needs Provide strategies and accommodations to classroom staff to support language development across settings Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and problem-solving discussions Consult with outside providers and agencies when appropriate Integrate speech and language goals into classroom and academic contexts Support students' access to the general education curriculum through targeted communication strategies Use evidence-based practices and differentiated instruction to meet diverse student needs Manage caseload efficiently, including scheduling, service delivery, and compliance requirements Utilize data systems and tools to track student progress and inform decision-making Assist in the development and improvement of speech-language services within the school or district Maintain inventory and proper use of therapy materials, assessments, and equipment Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and strategies for support at home Provide training or resources to caregivers to reinforce communication skills outside of school Participate in parent meetings and conferences as needed Perform other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree or higher in speech-language pathology from an accredited program; Passing score on the Praxis examination in speech-language pathology; Completion of a 1,260-hour clinical fellowship (CF) supervised by a licensed SLP, typically within 4 years of graduation; Ability to use technology to support individual communication, research, and instruction; Ability to effectively integrate and present technological tools to enhance small- and large-group learning experiences; Strong interpersonal and communication skills; The ability to work diplomatically and collaboratively with teachers, administrators, families, students, support staff, and outside professional contacts in a professional and respectful manner. andChild Abuse Training:
Mandatory 3-hour child abuse recognition and reporting training to be completed upon hiring.Reporting Relationships:
The SLP reports directly to the principal of the school, and works closely and collaboratively with district and school building teachers, paraprofessionals and related service providers.Terms of Employment:
This position is a 10 month position. This position requires someone to be on site 40 hours a week. Starting salaries are determined based on relevant experience, education, and internal equity, and are generally set below the midpoint of the salary range.Representation:
