Clinical Director-Speech-Language Pathologist A Sensory Place - Speech Therapy Services Avondale, AZ Job Details Contract 19 hours ago Benefits Work from home Flexible schedule Qualifications Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology Speech-Language Pathology License Full Job Description Overview A Sensory Place LLC is seeking a licensed, ASHA-certified Speech-Language Pathologist (CCC-SLP) to serve as Clinical Supervisor for our Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) team. This is a supervisory and consultation role — the SLP does not carry a routine direct therapy caseload but instead provides the clinical leadership infrastructure that allows our SLPAs to deliver high-quality, ISP-aligned services to children enrolled in Arizona's
DDD/AHCCCS HCBS
waiver program. This is an ideal role for an experienced SLP who wants to maintain clinical impact and generate supplemental income without a full-time caseload commitment. Compensation is structured as a flat monthly supervision retainer that scales with the number of SLPAs supervised, plus per-event fees for evaluations, group sessions, and other billable or compensable activities. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to identify speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders. Develop personalized treatment plans based on physiological knowledge, anatomy, and medical terminology to address each patient's unique needs. Deliver engaging speech therapy sessions for pediatric patients, focusing on early intervention strategies to promote optimal development. Collaborate with educators, healthcare professionals, and families to ensure cohesive support for patients' communication goals. Monitor progress regularly, adjusting therapy approaches as needed to maximize outcomes. Maintain accurate documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with healthcare standards. Educate patients and families about speech and language development, exercises, and strategies to support ongoing improvement. Skills Proven experience working with pediatric populations in school or clinical settings. Strong knowledge of speech therapy techniques tailored for early intervention and developmental delays. Familiarity with physiology, anatomy related to speech production, and medical terminology relevant to patient care. Skilled in conducting patient assessments with attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and educate families. Ability to adapt therapy methods based on individual patient needs and progress. The supervising SLP is responsible for the following activities in compliance with ASHA guidelines, Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C. R9-16), and

policy: Required Minimum Supervision (ASHA / Arizona Law) First 90 days of any SLPA's employment: minimum 30% of the SLPA's total service hours must involve direct or indirect SLP supervision contact. After 90 days (ongoing): minimum 20% of the SLPA's total service hours per month must involve documented SLP supervision contact. At least two scheduled supervision meetings per month per SLPA (may be conducted via HIPAA-compliant video platform). All SLPA session notes must be reviewed and co-signed or countersigned by the supervising SLP within the timeframe required by AHCCCS documentation standards. Clinical Oversight Duties Conduct all initial diagnostic evaluations for new DDD members and develop evidence-based treatment plans and ISP goal recommendations. Review SLPA session notes a minimum of twice monthly per SLPA to verify clinical accuracy, ISP alignment, and AHCCCS documentation compliance. Provide real-time clinical consultation to SLPAs during business hours via phone or secure messaging when clinical questions arise during sessions. Conduct re-evaluations annually or when a member's clinical status materially changes. Attend ISP planning meetings with DDD Support Coordinators when the member's communication goals require SLP-level input. Facilitate structured parent/caregiver training sessions as assigned by the Administrator. Participate in agency QAPI (Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement) reviews upon Administrator request. Provide in-service training to the SLPA team at a minimum of once per quarter. Documentation Requirements Maintain legible, timely supervision logs documenting all supervision contacts (date, SLPA supervised, duration, method, topics discussed, and follow-up actions). Co-sign all SLPA session notes and initial evaluation reports as required by AHCCCS and Arizona licensure standards. Submit supervision logs to the Administrator by the 5th of each month for the prior month. Maintain all required documentation in the agency's HIPAA-compliant EHR system.
