Toucan Talk pediatric therapy is looking to add another speech pathologist to our passionate team. We currently offer Speech Therapy and early intervention services and classes in the community. We are searching for someone who wants to work alongside other professionals, positively impact clients and families, and grow as a professional. We currently have contracts in two early steps areas. We strive to acquire, improve and reach the highest levels of each child's potential that is possible for them to achieve. Speech Therapist Primary Roles & responsibilities:
• To work with children 0-3 in the natural environment, serving children and their families in the early steps program
• Facilitate the development and/or rehabilitation of clients with a wide range of deficits or disabilities through the planning and execution of skilled speech therapy Techniques.
• Evaluates, analyzes/interprets results and creates a plan to provide quality and intentional care allowing for clients to improve their skills and quality of life.
• Provides fun and age appropriate therapy sessions that drive connection and reach the goals of the plan of care.
• Consult with physicians, related professionals and families regularly to support collaboration and carryover of skills.
• Make adjustments to therapy plans as needed based on the implementation or progress of the client for a personalized therapeutic approach.
• Instructs and educates families and caregivers on home exercise programs. Reviews goals with families monthly to allow for appropriate carry over of skills.
• Provides appropriate strategies or assistive equipment to support carryover.
• Documents client care and services in a timely manner
• Maintains patient confidentiality according to HIPPA compliancy
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with all policies and procedures for client safety.
• Complies with all federal, state, and local requirements for maintaining certifications and professional status
• Attend continuing education events and workshops, review current professional publications and demonstrate pride in the profession through a growth mindset.

• Become an early steps provider to see children in EI services within their natural environment and clinic settings

Knowledge and Skills:

• Ability to provide therapy involving speech, language, communication skills, articulation, phonology, providing play & learning, recreational and social opportunities.
• Understanding of typical and atypical development across pediatrics.
• Knowledge of regulation and practice standards of Speech Therapy
• Ability to communicate with families and other professionals in a respectful, collaborative and educational manner
• To become certified to see early steps children in their natural environment which could be daycare or home environment

Qualifications :

• License to practice Speech Therapy in the State of Florida
• Experience in working exclusively with pediatric population
• Participation in continuing education in pediatric therapy in accordance with the ASHA.
