Job Description

The Speech and Language Pathologist will work in partnership with families to support the growth and development of their child, birth until age three, who have a developmental delay, or a diagnosed medical condition known to cause developmental delay. Provides support and services that are integrated into daily routines and activities within natural environments where children and families live, learn and play. Helps families promote the healthy growth and development of their child through teaching, modeling, and encouraging developmentally appropriate activities to ensure the goals of infants and toddlers as stated in a family's Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP). Plans, schedules, and provides family-centered services for assigned caseload. Maintain confidential client files and complete all documentation in a professional manner and within established program time frames. Facilitates and participates in program procedures including intakes, evaluations, program services, and the development and review of Individualized Family Service Plans. Coordinates the delivery of services for assigned caseload, including those with outside consultants and practitioners. Facilitates coordinated services for early intervention children and families in collaboration with the agency. Coordinates transition plans for children and their families leaving Early Intervention. Constructively use formal and peer supervision to evaluate and improve effectiveness in providing services to clients. This includes active participation in supervision and team meetings. Meets established productivity standards for direct service. Implements Early Intervention services that conform to all federal, state and agency standards. Pursue ongoing professional development as required to maintain professional licensure as well as complete required Children's Friend's universal training and workshops. A minimum of 12 hours per year of training should focus on working with young children with disabilities and their families. Ability to interact with members of the community representing diverse backgrounds and interests. Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Highest degree applicable to the profession/discipline. 2 years' experience working with young children, preferably children with special needs. Must have driver's license, automobile, and auto liability insurance. The successful candidate will be required to meet our pre-employment background screening requirements.
Hybrid Eligible:
Given the nature of this role, the Speech and Language Pathologist will need to be able to work an onsite and remote work schedule.
