This role offers the opportunity to work with adolescents and adults recovering from concussion, mild traumatic brain injury, moderate-to-severe TBI, neurological disorders, and related cognitive impairments. As part of a collaborative team that includes neurologists, neurorehabilitation professionals, and other healthcare providers, you will evaluate and treat patients experiencing difficulties with attention, memory, executive functioning, processing speed, language, communication, and dysphagia. Your expertise will play a critical role in helping patients maximize recovery, improve daily functioning, and successfully return to work, school, sports, and community activities. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive speech-language and cognitive-communication evaluations for patients with traumatic brain injury, concussion, and neurological conditions. Assess and treat deficits involving attention, memory, executive functioning, processing speed, problem-solving, language, social communication, and cognitive endurance. Evaluate and manage swallowing disorders when clinically indicated. Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient-specific functional goals and objective assessment findings. Provide evidence-based cognitive rehabilitation interventions designed to improve independence and quality of life. Collaborate closely with neurologists, rehabilitation specialists, psychologists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, case managers, and caregivers. Educate patients and families regarding cognitive recovery, compensatory strategies, symptom management, and home exercise programs. Document evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with regulatory and clinical standards. Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews and contribute to coordinated patient care planning. Assist with return-to-work, return-to-school, and functional reintegration planning when appropriate. Qualifications Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Current Speech-Language Pathologist license in the applicable state(s). Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred. Experience evaluating and treating patients with traumatic brain injury, concussion, stroke, or other neurological conditions preferred. Knowledge of cognitive rehabilitation, executive function training, memory interventions, and cognitive-communication disorders. Experience with standardized cognitive-linguistic assessments and outcome measures. Strong clinical documentation and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration abilities. Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care in both in-person and telehealth settings, if applicable. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in concussion/TBI programs - preferred not required. Familiarity with return-to-work, return-to-school, and vocational rehabilitation principles.
