Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Make an impact in K-12 education as a contracted Speech-Language Pathologist in the vibrant Chattanooga area! Collaborate with dedicated staff to support students' communication and learning across various schools. This full-time, 35-hour-per-week opportunity runs from August 5, 2026, through May 19, 2027. As the district finalizes caseload specifics, you can expect a focus on the elementary age group, offering plenty of opportunity to guide students during their formative years.
Key Qualifications:
Active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license in Tennessee Current Department of Education SLP certification Ability to complete fingerprinting and time-sensitive credentialing requirements Previous experience in school-based settings or pediatrics preferred Strong collaboration and communication skills
Role Responsibilities:
Provide direct and consultative speech-language therapy services to students, adapting methods to meet individualized education plans (IEPs) Assess, diagnose, and document students' communication disorders using up-to-date evaluation tools Work with teachers, parents, and other support staff to ensure student progress and engagement Travel between assigned schools as needed and efficiently manage assigned caseload Maintain accurate records and progress documentation in compliance with district and legal standards Contribute actively to IEP meetings, providing expertise and recommendations Why Consider This Role?
