BSA Hospital is a 445-bed hospital serving the Amarillo area for over 120 years and continues to be Amarillo's preferred healthcare provider. At BSA, the focus is to provide quality healthcare in Christian love, service, and dignity.
Responsibilities:
Assesses, diagnoses, and treats speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in children and adults. Work with patients to improve their ability to communicate effectively, and address difficulties related to speech, voice, fluency, and comprehension. Evaluate speech, language, and swallowing disorders through assessments and standardized tests. Identify the cause of communication difficulties (e.g., developmental delays, neurological conditions, or trauma). Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs. Provide therapy for speech and language disorders, including articulation, fluency, and voice disorders. Teach patients exercises and techniques to improve communication skills. Assist patients with swallowing difficulties through targeted interventions. Work closely with families, caregivers, teachers, and healthcare providers to support patient progress. Educate patients and caregivers on communication strategies. Maintain detailed patient records and progress reports. Adjust treatment plans as needed based on patient improvement. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and professional standards.
Qualifications:
Job Requirements:
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (MS or MA). Texas state license to practice as a Speech-Language Therapist. Certification from ASHA as a
CCC-SLP. BLS
certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
Preferred Job Requirements:
Previous experience in a healthcare setting.
