Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Step into a pivotal role providing speech-language therapy within a regional day school program for the deaf. This contract position offers the opportunity to work full-time (37.5 hours per week) alongside a dedicated team, supporting students in a Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) program. Your ASL fluency and expertise will help unlock communication and growth for students who need it most.
Key Qualifications:
Current Texas Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) license required Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) or DHHT certification essential Experience working in educational or school-based settings, particularly with DHH populations, is preferred Strong assessment, evaluation, and therapy skills for students with varied communication needs Must successfully complete TEA fingerprint clearance if not recently completed for a public school district
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct, therapy-focused speech-language services for DHH students within the regional day school program Collaborate closely with two other SLPs and educational staff to coordinate therapy and ensure student success Utilize ASL to facilitate effective communication with students and colleagues Document interventions, progress, and maintain IEP compliance Engage in ongoing professional development and participate in school meetings and teams as needed You'll be joining a collaborative, highly skilled support network dedicated to empowering students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
