Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. In this role, you will work with patients of various ages, focusing on diagnosing and treating speech, language, and communication disorders. Your expertise will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals facing these challenges, particularly with adults and geriatrics. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments with standardized tests to determine speech and language needs. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in both for both short and long term patients based on assessment findings. Provide speech therapy sessions to patients in an individual and group setting, utilizing evidence-based techniques. Collaborate with families, educators, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Educate patients and families about speech and language disorders and strategies for improvement. Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes. Stay current with advancements in speech therapy practices and medical terminology. Experience A Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program is required. State licensure or certification as a Speech Language Pathologist is necessary. Experience working with adult populations is preferred, particularly in the geriatric and rehab setting. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to speech production is essential. Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to speech-language pathology is advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and colleagues are crucial. Previous experience in SNF and acute settings or providing patient care will be considered a plus. Open to those completing a clinical fellowship.
