POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Plans, develops and implements professionally competent individual and group treatment programs for both inpatients and outpatients. Participates and initiates managerial, administrative, educational and quality control duties as assigned by supervisor. Performs advanced leadership skills in provision and coordination of patient care, departmental projects and committees. Provides efficient and timely professional Speech Pathology programming and appropriate documentation on all patients assigned. Participates in and contributes to educational programs and serves as a Clinical Instructor for various levels of Speech Pathology student programs. Assists with supervision of assigned Speech Pathology personnel, students and/or volunteers. Participates effectively with health care team members to facilitate maximum patient benefit.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Five years of experience as a Speech Pathologist required. Meets clinical and leadership activities and behaviors as defined in the clinical ladder or equivalent.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Must maintain current licensure to practice as a Speech and Language Pathologist as issued by the Texas State Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathology and Audiology. Active membership in the American Speech and Hearing Association preferred. Must have current American Heart Association, Basic Cardiac Life Support and Health Care Provider card.
