This position is for a certified SLP or SLP-CF. In this placement, you will play a vital role in supporting students' communication skills to ensure their academic and social success. This position offers a hands-on opportunity to apply clinical expertise within a K-12 environment. You will collaborate with educators and families to assess, diagnose, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), directly impacting students' ability to access their curriculum and build confidence in the classroom.
Duties Comprehensive Evaluations:
Conduct formal and informal assessments to identify speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders that impact educational performance.
IEP Development:
Assist in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) with measurable goals tailored to each student's unique learning needs.
Direct Intervention:
Provide engaging, evidence-based therapy sessions for students, ranging from K-12 education levels.
Classroom Collaboration:
Work alongside teachers, psychologists, and occupational therapists to provide holistic support and push-in services within the classroom.
Consultation & Advocacy:
Educate parents and school staff on communication strategies and assistive technology to support students across all environments.
Clinical Documentation:
Maintain accurate, confidential records of student progress, session notes, and quarterly reports in compliance with IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) and school district policies.
Skills Pediatric Focus:
A strong interest in working with children and adolescents in an educational setting.
Clinical Knowledge:
Solid understanding of speech and language development, anatomy, and various communication disorders.
Adaptability:
Ability to modify therapy techniques to align with different grade levels and diverse learning styles.
Communication:
Skilled at explaining complex clinical findings to parents and educators in a clear, accessible manner.
Early Intervention Expertise:
Familiarity with strategies that promote developmental milestones in early childhood populations.
Organizational Excellence:
Ability to manage a school caseload, attend multidisciplinary meetings, and meet strict state and federal reporting deadlines.
Pay:
$40.28 - $48.51 per hour
