Job Description
Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract To Hire Step into a rewarding role supporting young learners during the summer months as a Speech-Language Pathologist. This contract-to-hire opportunity focuses on providing expert speech therapy services at the elementary level, enriching students' communication abilities and helping them thrive academically and socially. This position offers part-time hours, with a schedule of two days per week, working 5-6 hours each day for a total of 10-12 hours weekly. The assignment runs from June through the first week of August, making it an excellent option for SLPs seeking summer engagement or those balancing other commitments. The caseload includes elementary-aged students and does not involve Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) users.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Current Speech-Language Pathologist license and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (SLP-CCC) required. Previous experience working in school settings, especially with elementary age, preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with young students, their families, and educational teams. Ability to independently manage a small, focused caseload in a self-directed manner. Passion for making a measurable impact on children's lives.Key Responsibilities:
Conduct speech and language therapy sessions tailored to individual student goals. Assess, develop, and implement IEPs collaboratively with teachers and parents. Maintain thorough documentation and progress reporting, in line with school policies. Support a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages all students to succeed. Collaborate with education staff to integrate speech strategies within the classroom as appropriate.
