Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact working with students as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP, CCC) on a contract basis in a supportive school environment near Portsmouth, VA. This role is ideal for a compassionate clinician who enjoys collaborating with educators and families to help students unlock their communication potential and thrive academically and socially.
Qualifications and Experience:
Active Speech-Language Pathology license with ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) Previous experience in school settings preferred, but strong clinical backgrounds also considered Skilled in conducting evaluations, developing IEPs, and providing engaging individual and group therapy Familiarity with a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to student support Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication abilities
Key Responsibilities:
Assess students for speech, language, voice, fluency, and communication challenges Document evaluation results and progress in compliance with district and state guidelines Develop and implement customized treatment plans and IEP goals Provide direct therapy to students both individually and in group settings Collaborate with teachers, families, and other school specialists to integrate therapy into the student's learning goals Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and ongoing team planning Offer guidance and resources to staff and caregivers to support student success Step into a contract role where every day provides opportunities to make real change in the lives of young learners.
