Job Description

Category Therapy - Hospital - SLP Job Type Contract Enhance the lives of patients as a skilled Speech Therapist in a hospital setting, providing expert assessment and intervention for speech, language, and swallowing disorders. In this rewarding contract role, you will collaborate with a diverse interdisciplinary team to ensure communication success and safe swallowing for individuals of all ages.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program Current, active license as a Speech-Language Pathologist Experience in a healthcare or hospital environment preferred Strong knowledge of current therapy approaches and best practices Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals Commitment to ongoing professional growth and evidence-based practice
Schedule:
Contract position; full-time hours
Key Responsibilities:
Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders Develop individualized care plans and implement therapy sessions Complete detailed patient documentation, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge reports Educate staff members such as nurses, physicians, and dietary teams on patient care, research findings, and best practices Organize and present in-service trainings for hospital staff Support patients and their families in navigating care within the hospital environment Prepare and maintain clean, welcoming treatment areas Make reminder calls to patients regarding appointments Liaise with insurance companies regarding patient benefits and service coverage
