Job Description
Category Therapy - Hospital - SLP Job Type Contract This opportunity involves assessing and treating speech, language, and swallowing disorders to improve patients' communication abilities and swallowing safety in a hospital setting. Working as a Speech Therapist, you will provide direct patient care, collaborate with healthcare teams, and contribute to patient education and hospital initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders through direct care Complete thorough patient documentation including evaluations, care plans, progress, and discharge reports Communicate with insurance companies to verify patient benefits Prepare for and conduct evaluation and treatment sessions effectively Educate multidisciplinary staff on evaluation outcomes and clinical recommendations Develop in-service presentations and continuous educational programs for hospital staff Collaborate with physicians, nurses, dietitians, and other professionals to ensure patient-centered care Maintain clean and organized treatment areas Perform reminder calls and assist patients and families with hospital navigation Undertake additional duties as assigned to support departmental goalsDesired Qualifications:
Valid state licensure and certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Experience in hospital-based speech therapy or healthcare environments Strong clinical assessment and intervention skills in speech, language, and dysphagia Excellent communication and collaboration capabilities Ability to educate and guide multidisciplinary teams based on current research Organizational skills for documentation and treatment preparationLocation Overview:
