Job Description
Category Therapy - Hospital - SLP Job Type Contract Step into a vital therapy role where your expertise in hospital-based speech-language pathology makes a meaningful impact on patient lives every day. In this contract position, you'll work closely with individuals facing challenges in communication and swallowing, helping them reach their fullest potential for health and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide thorough assessment and treatment for speech, language, and swallowing disorders in a hospital setting. Complete all required documentation, including patient evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries. Communicate with insurance companies to clarify and coordinate patient benefits. Prepare each evaluation and therapy session with attention to patient needs and current best practices. Deliver education to interdisciplinary staff—such as nurses, physicians, dietitians, and support staff—regarding new research, therapy results, and recommendations. Design and present in-service opportunities to advance staff knowledge in speech-language pathology. Collaborate with physicians and allied health staff for a patient-centered approach. Maintain a clean, organized therapy environment following each session. Provide appointment reminders and support navigation for patients and families within the hospital. Assist with other duties as needed to support high-quality services.Qualifications:
Valid and active Speech-Language Pathology licensure. Experience providing therapy in hospital settings strongly preferred. Demonstrated skill working with diverse patient populations and interdisciplinary teams. Strong documentation, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
