PRINCIPALS/DIRECTORS WILL POST IN OFFICE AREAS UPON RECEIPT.
The Wirt County Board of Education announces the following vacancy for the 2025-2026 school year:
POSITION
Speech Language Pathologist, Itinerant
CONTRACT
200-day contract
QUALIFICATIONS
Valid WV Certification for Speech Language Pathologist Pre-K-Adult, ASHA Certification, preferred Able to be certified as a Medicaid Provider
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To help reduce or eliminate speech and/or language deficits that may interfere with learning. Serve as a resource to school staff members in the development of a balanced program for oral communication and speech improvement. Provide a therapeutic program to meet individual needs of students with communication deficits. Assist and guide teachers in observing, describing and referring suspected and identified speech and language impairments. Provide a thorough assessment and diagnosis of speech and language impairments. Provide screening to identify students with speech and language deficits. Provide information, support and counseling to parents and families when appropriate. Complete Medicaid billing as needed. Provide age appropriate classroom experience to assist students with language development. Provide short term preventive/intervention student based activities when appropriate. Provide needed supervision and support for SPLA (Speech Language Pathologist Assistant) including all documentation and follow-up. Other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Wirt County Salary Scale for teachers based on degree and years' experience.
