This extra duty assignment requires a West Virginia Professional or Temporary Teaching Certificate endorsed West Virginia Professional or Temporary Service Certificate endorsed for speech/language pathology.Responsibilities:
In addition to abiding by established laws, policies, rules, and regulations, the Lead Speech-Language Pathologist shall have the following extra-duty responsibilities and duties: 1. To act as a liaison between speech-language pathologists and the Office of Exceptional Education, being the first point of contact for speech-language pathologists. 2. To coordinate with the Director of Exceptional Education to assign caseloads. 3. To monitor caseloads for all speech-language pathologist. 4. To assist speech-language pathologist with IEP questions and amendment questions. 5. To schedule monthly coordination meetings, submit written summary of meetings to the Director of Exceptional Education. 6. To review all speech only IEPs prior to submitting to the Office of Exceptional Education, IEP Diagnostician. 7. To coordinate with the Office of Exceptional Education, IEP Diagnostician, to monitor timelines for Initial IEPs, Annual Review IEPs, and Re-evaluation Review IEPs. 8. To coordinate with the Office of Exceptional Education, IEP Diagnostician, to assign new students to speech-language pathologists. 9. To collect and submit Extended School Year (ESY) rosters and ESY Reports to the Office of Exceptional Education. 10. To coordinate with the Medicaid Secretary to monitor Medicaid billing for speech-language pathologists. 11. To utilize consistent forms to maintain log of therapy sessions, document student progress and speech report, etc. 12. To maintain county-wide guidelines to outline specific procedures for the delivery of speech/language services (screening procedures, materials, test instruments, etc.). 13. To coordinate with the Director of Exceptional Education to schedule and track the field-specific 12 hours of professional development. 14. To coordinate with the Director of Exceptional Education to order tests and equipment for SLPs. 15. To attend the monthly Lead SLP meetings with WVDE. 16. Ensure that confidentiality procedures are not compromised.Supplemental Pay:
