Educational Services Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities:
To assist in the assessment of students' speech development level; implementing goals for remediation of speech and language deficits; and providing information and/or direction as may be required. The information contained in this job description is for compliance with the American with Disabilities Act (A.D.A.) and is not an exhaustive list of the duties performed for this position. Additional duties are performed by the individuals currently holding this position and additional duties may be assigned.
Essential Functions:
Attends meetings in the presence of supervising Speech Language Pathologist -SLP (e.g. departmental, multidisciplinary team, etc.) for the purpose of receiving and/or conveying information. Conducts speech and language screenings using district approved screening instruments. Confers with classroom teacher for the purpose of providing requested information, implementing plans for services and/or making recommendations as directed by supervising SLP. Maintains various files and/or records for the purpose of providing written support and documentation required. Prepares materials and follows speech language lessons appropriate for individuals or small groups (e.g. speech therapy, teaching materials, etc.). Provides direct instructional services to students under the supervision of the SLP for the purpose of implementing goals for remediation of speech language deficits. Employee will frequently interact with the public and other staff members. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
Education Requirements/Licensing Requirements:
Community College and/or Vocational School Degree. Speech-Language Pathology Assistant License (ARS 36-1940.04)
Fingerprint Clearance Experience:
