Job Description

Category Schools - SLPA Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic school-based position as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant and support students' communication growth throughout the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time, itinerant contract opportunity places you in varied educational environments, allowing you to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and help students achieve academic and social success.
Qualifications:
Current licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in the state of California Prior experience in a school setting highly desirable Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, staff, and families Flexibility to travel between sites as required by the itinerant role Proven ability to follow treatment plans and directives from supervising SLPs Organizational savvy for managing caseloads and paperwork efficiently Passion for creating positive, inclusive learning environments
Key Responsibilities:
Assist supervising SLPs in delivering speech and language therapy services to K-12 students Work across multiple school sites within the region, adapting services to meet diverse student needs Implement therapy activities as outlined in individualized education plans (IEPs) Document student progress and maintain accurate records compliant with district and state guidelines Participate in team meetings, IEP reviews, and professional development sessions as needed Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other service providers to maximize student outcomes Provide support and encouragement to help students develop confidence and improved communication skills By accepting this role, you'll gain experience in an engaging educational environment, build connections across several school communities, and make a lasting impact on students' lives.
