Job Description
Category Schools - SLPA Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity for the 2026-2027 school year as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) on a contract basis. Support young learners at the preschool level, providing critical assistance to an SLP in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about communication development in early childhood education. Your schedule will span 35 hours each week, with workdays running from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and a 30-minute unpaid lunch each day. The assignment covers the school year from August 17, 2026, through June 4, 2027.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
SLPA license valid for practice (meeting state and national guidelines) Prior experience working in school-based or pediatric settings, especially supporting preschool-aged students Proficiency with AAC devices, speech articulation exercises, and receptive/expressive language development preferred Strong communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to follow therapy plans set by supervising SLP and collaborate as part of an educational team Reliable organizational skills and a proactive, adaptable mindsetPrimary Responsibilities:
Deliver speech-language services under the supervision of an SLP, focusing on students in a preschool setting Implement therapy activities to achieve individual education plan (IEP) goals Collect and document student data, progress, and participation Communicate progress and needs to the supervising SLP and, as directed, to teachers or caregivers Support inclusion and participation during classroom or small-group sessions Assist with preparation of therapy materials and managing caseload organization Imagine making an impact by helping young students develop vital communication skills that set the stage for lifelong learning.
