Job Description
Category Schools - SLPA Job Type Contract Step into a vibrant school community as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant, supporting young learners in their communication development. This contract opportunity offers you the chance to work within an elementary caseload, assisting students from TK through 5th grade, and making a genuine impact in a diverse and growing district with more than 3,600 students. In this role, you'll be based at a single elementary site and carry a caseload that typically averages around 60 students. You'll work with children presenting a range of communication needs, from general education through moderate to severe challenges. As an essential member of the speech team, you'll provide both direct services and participate in IEPs, assessments, and evaluations, collaborating with families and educators to foster student success.
Qualifications & Experience:
Active SLPA credential required (CTC credential preferred but not mandatory) Experience in school-based settings, particularly in elementary grades, is a plus Strong communication and collaboration skills Comfortable providing speech services to students with a variety of needs and abilities Proficient in delivering direct intervention as well as supporting IEP meetings and completing student evaluationsKey Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and small-group speech-language services under the supervision of a credentialed SLP Assist in conducting assessments and preparing documentation for IEPs Monitor student progress and contribute to collaborative planning with the multidisciplinary team Create a supportive, inclusive learning environment to help each student achieve their communication goals This contract involves 37.5 hours per week, with the assignment running from August through early June.
