The SLPA supports the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based interventions for children with communication, language, articulation, social-pragmatic, and feeding-related needs, while maintaining compliance with state regulations and clinic policies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide direct speech and language therapy services to pediatric clients as outlined in the supervising SLP's treatment plans Implement therapy activities targeting: Articulation and phonology Receptive and expressive language Pragmatic/social communication Fluency and voice (as appropriate) AAC support and carryover activities (when applicable) Prepare therapy materials and organize session activities in advance Collect objective data during therapy sessions and document progress accurately Maintain daily treatment notes and submit documentation in a timely manner Follow individualized goals, behavior plans, and therapy protocols established by the supervising SLP Collaborate with supervising SLP regarding client progress, challenges, and goal adjustments Communicate professionally with parents/caregivers regarding session activities and carryover strategies (within scope) Maintain a clean, organized, and child-friendly therapy environment Adhere to
HIPAA, FERPA
(when applicable), and clinic confidentiality standards Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and supervision sessions as required Supervision & Scope of Practice All services are provided under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist The SLPA does not : Diagnose disorders Interpret assessment results Develop or modify treatment plans independently Write evaluation or progress reports Supervision will follow state and ASHA guidelines, including direct and indirect supervision requirements Required Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders Valid SLPA registration/license (per state requirements) Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Experience working with pediatric populations preferred Ability to pass background check and TB clearance (as required) Preferred Qualifications Experience in a pediatric outpatient or school-based setting Familiarity with play-based therapy and child-led approaches Experience supporting social skills groups or AAC users Strong classroom management and behavior support skills Skills & Competencies Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to follow detailed treatment plans with consistency Excellent organization and time-management skills Professional, reliable, and team-oriented Ability to engage children in motivating, age-appropriate activities Comfort working with neurodivergent populations Work Environment Pediatric outpatient clinic Direct work with children ages preschool through adolescence May include individual therapy sessions and small group therapy Compensation $30 - $45 (part-time) Based on Experience Disclaimer This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
