Job Description

Category Schools - SLPA Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding part-time contract role as a School Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for the 2026 to 2027 academic year. This unique opportunity near Danbury, CT, involves supporting students in school-based settings, helping them reach their full communication potential. Work approximately 13 hours per week over two days and collaborate with educators and licensed Speech-Language Pathologists in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
Must hold active SLPA licensure in Connecticut Previous experience in school settings is required Strong communication and collaboration abilities Ability to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) under supervision Skilled in working with diverse student populations and various communication needs Reliable, organized, and comfortable managing a part-time schedule
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct speech-language services to students as directed by supervising SLP Support implementation of therapy goals and activities targeted toward student growth Collect and document data on student progress and interventions Communicate effectively with teaching staff, families, and supervisors Adapt activities and materials to suit students' individual communication needs Participate in team meetings and contribute to progress discussions Maintain confidentiality and comply with school/district policies
