Job Description

Bachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1+ years speech-language pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. This contract role is ideal for professionals seeking hands-on experience in a school setting, under the guidance of experienced supervisors. The assignment runs from July 6 to July 30 and covers K-12 students participating in the Extended School Year (ESY) program. You'll spend your mornings at West Woods Upper Elementary, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The school offers an inclusive and supportive atmosphere, ensuring you'll make a real impact while developing your skills.
Key Qualifications:
Active Connecticut SLPA license required Prior experience in school-based or pediatric settings is highly preferred Ability to work with students across kindergarten through 12th grade Strong communication skills with students, school staff, and families Reliable, flexible, and committed to the full duration of the contract
Primary Responsibilities:
Implement speech and language therapy activities as directed by supervising SLP Support students with communication goals during the ESY program Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate strategies within classroom routines Document student progress and maintain accurate records per school procedures Participate in team meetings and contribute to positive student outcomes This position features a consistent Monday through Thursday schedule from 8:00 am to 1:15 pm—perfect for enjoying your summer afternoons.
