Category Schools - SLPA Job Type Contract Step into an exciting part-time opportunity supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract position is designed for compassionate professionals who thrive in educational environments and are ready to make an impact in students' communication development. Working just two days a week for a total of 13 hours near the New Haven area, you'll collaborate with speech-language pathologists and teachers to deliver high-quality therapy to students. What you bring:
Active SLPA license and credentials. Demonstrated experience working in a school setting as an SLPA. Familiarity with supporting speech and language therapy plans within a classroom environment. Excellent communication skills with students, staff, and families. Reliability, self-motivation, and an eagerness to support all learners.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
Assist supervising speech-language pathologists in implementing individualized therapy plans. Conduct direct and indirect therapy sessions with students, adapting activities to their needs. Document progress, maintain session notes, and track students' goals as directed. Support the speech team in preparing materials and managing caseloads. Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create a positive and inclusive environment for all students.
