This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with licensed speech-language pathologists, providing essential therapy interventions that enhance communication skills and improve quality of life. You will be actively engaged in implementing treatment plans, assisting with assessments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care in various settings such as clinic, home, and schools. Duties Assist licensed speech-language pathologists in delivering speech therapy interventions tailored to individual client needs. Support therapy sessions for children and students with communication disorders, including articulation, language delays, fluency, voice issues, and feeding therapy. Prepare therapy materials, set up equipment, and organize activities aligned with treatment goals. Monitor patient progress by documenting responses and updating records in accordance with clinical protocols. Collaborate with educators and healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students requiring speech services. Support early intervention programs by working directly with young children to foster foundational communication skills. Maintain a safe and supportive environment during therapy sessions, ensuring adherence to medical terminology, physiology knowledge, and anatomy principles. Experience Prior experience working with children or students in educational or clinical settings is highly preferred. Experience in pediatric speech therapy or early intervention programs is a strong advantage. Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to speech-language pathology and anatomy related to the vocal apparatus is desirable. Familiarity with acute care environments or school-based settings enhances your ability to adapt to diverse client needs. Demonstrated understanding of physiology principles related to speech production and swallowing is beneficial. Ability to communicate effectively with children, families, educators, and healthcare teams ensures collaborative success. Previous exposure to working within IEP frameworks or pediatric rehabilitation programs will support your effectiveness in this role.
