This role is in a high-school, where you will work closely with a licensed speech-language pathologist to implement therapy plans, support classroom activities, and foster a positive learning environment for children with diverse needs. This paid position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students while gaining valuable experience in pediatrics and school-based settings. Duties Assist licensed speech-language pathologists in delivering speech therapy services to students with speech, language, and communication disorders Implement individualized education programs (IEPs) by supporting therapy goals and activities tailored to each student's needs Support students during therapy sessions, classroom activities, and early intervention programs to promote effective communication skills Monitor and document student progress, providing detailed reports to supervising clinicians for ongoing assessment and planning Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to ensure consistent support for students' communication development Maintain a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment conducive to learning and therapy effectiveness Follow all school policies, medical protocols, and confidentiality guidelines related to student care Skills Strong ability to work effectively with children and adolescents in educational and clinical settings Knowledge of speech and language disorders Familiarity with speech therapy techniques, IEP processes, and early childhood development principles Excellent communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and engage positively with students and families Ability to follow detailed instructions while demonstrating initiative in supporting therapy goals Basic understanding of medical procedures related to acute care situations involving children This is an excellent position for those passionate about helping others communicate effectively.
