Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference this summer by supporting students' access to essential educational services from the comfort of their homes. A contract paraprofessional is needed for a summer school assignment, facilitating virtual therapeutic sessions for a homebound student. This role is designed for individuals passionate about providing hands-on help and guidance while empowering students to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate and oversee virtual Occupational Therapy (OT), Physical Therapy (PT), and Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) sessions Ensure all technology is functioning so students remain engaged and connected to their remote therapists Offer encouragement, redirection, and supervision to the student throughout therapy interactions Maintain a safe and structured environment during each virtual session Communicate any relevant feedback or observations to the appropriate therapy or school staff
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
Experience as a paraprofessional in a school or special education setting is highly preferred Strong sense of reliability and punctuality—timely support is vital to students' routines Ability to establish a positive rapport and maintain appropriate boundaries with students Tech-savvy enough to help with basic troubleshooting during online sessions Demonstrates patience, compassion, and adaptability, especially when supporting students with unique needs
