Job Description
Category Schools - SLPA Job Type Travel This travel-based position supports students from kindergarten through 6th grade in a school setting located in Joliet, IL. The role requires expertise as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) or Speech-Language Pathologist with credentials such as SLP-CCC or SLP-CFY, focusing on school-based therapy services. Scheduled hours for an onsite candidate are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM during the regular school year, which concludes on May 29th. Extended School Year (ESY) services run from June 1st through June 29th, with hours of 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM. The next school year begins for staff on Thursday, August 13th. The caseload involves working with approximately 22 students distributed across five classrooms, with a maximum of six students per room. There is potential for the caseload to increase by two students before the end of the current school year.
Key Qualifications:
Valid SLPA certification or Speech-Language Pathology credentials such as SLP-CCC or SLP-CFY. Experience working with elementary-aged children in school settings. Ability to manage caseloads and develop individualized treatment plans. Flexibility for travel assignments to support schools as needed. Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and educational staff. Responsibilities include delivering speech therapy services tailored to student needs, maintaining progress documentation, and participating in team meetings to support student development.
