Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) in Oak Park, IL Sunbelt Staffing - 3.8 Oak Park, IL Job Details Part-time | Contract $30 - $45 an hour 11 hours ago Qualifications SLPA License Bachelor's degree Full Job Description Bachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1+ years speech-language pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into an enriching opportunity to support high school students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant for the 26/27 school year. This contract, part-time position offers the unique advantage of focusing your expertise at a single campus, working one day per week, and fostering meaningful relationships with students and staff.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Illinois SLPA license required Previous experience in a school or healthcare setting preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and families Familiarity with high school-aged populations and their speech/language needs Ability to work independently with reliable organization and time management
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with supervising Speech-Language Pathologists to deliver targeted speech and language interventions Support high school students in achieving their communication goals, both individually and in small groups Collect data and maintain documentation on student progress in accordance with required standards Implement therapy activities and teaching strategies as directed by the supervising SLP Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment within the school community
