Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make an impact supporting students as a contract Para/VOCO Facilitator working full-time in a dynamic educational environment near Harvey, LA. This role offers the unique opportunity to collaborate with virtual School Psychologists or Speech-Language Pathologists, providing essential support to students in need of special education services. The assignment runs from August 3, 2026, through May 27, 2027, with a 35-hour work week (seven-hour days and a 30-minute unpaid lunch).
Key Qualifications:
Associate's Degree, OR a ParaPro Assessment score of 450 or higher, OR a minimum of 48 completed semester credit hours (as required by the district) Prior experience working in a special education classroom Ability to complete time-sensitive credentialing, including drug screening and fingerprint clearance Commitment to supporting students' academic and emotional success in a virtual facilitation role Reliable, flexible, and collaborative approach to working across multiple schools (specific assignments TBD)
Main Responsibilities:
Serve as an on-site facilitator for students and coordinate virtual sessions with School Psychologists or Speech-Language Pathologists Assist students with accessing online services, troubleshooting basic technology issues, and staying engaged in virtual learning Provide classroom support tailored to the needs of students with disabilities, under the guidance of special education professionals Maintain accurate documentation and communication as directed Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students Onboarding is streamlined; candidates will be prescreened and must complete a brief questionnaire prior to presentation.
