ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
The speech and language Pathologist Assistant is a member of the special education team, supports the education of students with communication impairments in the least restrictive environment and provides educationally and participation based services to students with disabilities who would not otherwise be able to access the educational environment of the school.
JOB DUTIES
(Under the supervision of an SLP)
  • Adhere to professional, ethical and legal standards of practice.
  • Implement intervention strategies.
  • Use evidence-based methods and techniques appropriate to stated objectives.
  • Collection and documentation of student progress through progress monitoring and observation data.
  • Adjusts intervention strategies based on student performance.
  • Collaborates with classroom teachers and other special education staff in the management of speech-language impairments.
  • Adheres to all Federal, state and district regulations and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.
Candidates must be certified as an SLPA.
