Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Long Term Substitute Location:
Brookside Elementary SchoolSchedule:
6-hours/day August 26, 2026 to December 23, 2026
Salary:
$40.00 per hour
To Start:
August 26, 2026
Education/Certification:
Associates degree in speech-language pathology from a training program approved by a national certifying body OR Bachelors degree with a major in speech-language pathology, OR a bachelors degree and a certificate from a board approved speech language pathology assistant program
Qualifications:
Knowledge of special education process and regulationsBilingual preferredStrong ability to relate and work with the middle school studentsAbility to incorporate a variety of learning activities/ experiences to inspire, motivate and challenge middle school studentsKnowledge of habilitation, and rehabilitation of speech-language disorders and conditionsAbility to instruct and manage student behavior Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Excellent technology skillsA self-reflective, active learner capable of interactive dialogue with all members of the school communityRespect for diversity
Duties:
Implement, plan and provide appropriate individual and group speech-language therapy to students consistent with speech and language goals contained in Individualized Education Programs (IEP) under the direction of Speech Language Pathologist supervisorIndividual, small group and classroom instructionParticipate in IEP Team process in accordance with required timelines and regulationsCollaborate with staff regarding augmentative communication devicesWrite and input progress reports, measurable goals and objectivesConsult with and involve staff and parents in remedial process under the direction of the Speech Language Pathologist
