Speech-Language Pathology Assistant
  • Long Term Substitute

Schedule:
6-hours/day

Salary:
$40.00 per hour
To Start:
August 26, 2026
Education/Certification:
  • Associate's degree in speech-language pathology from a training program approved by a national certifying body OR Bachelor's degree with a major in speech-language pathology, OR a bachelor's degree and a certificate from a board approved speech language pathology assistant program
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of special education process and regulations
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Strong ability to relate and work with the middle school students
  • Ability to incorporate a variety of learning activities/ experiences to inspire, motivate and challenge middle school students
  • Knowledge of habilitation, and rehabilitation of speech-language disorders and conditions
  • Ability to instruct and manage student behavior
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent technology skills
  • A self-reflective, active learner capable of interactive dialogue with all members of the school community
  • Respect for diversity
Duties:
  • Implement, plan and provide appropriate individual and group speech-language therapy to students consistent with speech and language goals contained in Individualized Education Programs (IEP) under the direction of Speech Language Pathologist supervisor
  • Individual, small group and classroom instruction
  • Participate in IEP Team process in accordance with required timelines and regulations
  • Collaborate with staff regarding augmentative communication devices
  • Write and input progress reports, measurable goals and objectives
  • Consult with and involve staff and parents in remedial process under the direction of the Speech Language Pathologist
