Pediatric Development Center, Inc Speech Language Pathologist Assistant Pittsfield, MA Apply Job Description/Skills/Computer/Education Responsibilities Include:
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team assessments of the child\'s developmental status
  • Provide culturally responsive services appropriate for children ages 0-3 and their families
  • Participate in the development of an Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) with responsibility for identifying, objectives, outcomes and strategies related to the child\'s development
  • Complete progress notes, reports, assessments, and correspondence as required by PDC and DPH
  • Provide individual and group intervention for infants and toddlers from birth to three years old who have developmental delays or who are at risk for delays in the areas of cognitive, adaptive behavior, social-emotional, self-care, fine motor, gross motor, and communication development
  • Assess family and child strengths/resources, concerns, and progress
  • Act as service coordinator for the family by scheduling, developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the intervention plan for each family on caseload, ensuring that appropriate procedures and required timelines are followed
  • Provide supportive professional assistance to families
  • Facilitate parent-child interactions to encourage child\'s development; assist families to act as advocates for their child
  • Able to effectively manage required EICS data entry in home setting
  • Keeping all records timely and updated in EICS as required by PDC and DPH requirements
  • Provide services in homes
Requirements:
  • SLPA Massachusetts license
  • Ability to engage in meaningful, therapeutic relationships with children, parents/caregivers, and community partners
  • Commitment to delivering individualized and culturally appropriate services.
  • Abide by all confidentiality and professional boundary standards.
  • Ability to manage DPH designed client database after appropriate training has been completed
  • Exhibit compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including: the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA); reimbursement requirements; and state statutes and rules regarding SLPA education, training, and scope of practice.
  • Adhere to all Department of Health Early Intervention Operational Standards including but not limited to:
  • Maintaining accurate and timely records of services provided, including thorough documentation of client progress and related activities, to support effective service delivery and compliance
  • Proven experience contributing successfully within a collaborative team environment
  • On an infrequent basis, must be able to respond rapidly to safeguard children during an emergency including threat of fire, disaster or imminent danger. Emergency response may require running, carrying or lifting children. Must be able to react quickly to prevent injury or harm to a child.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certifications, or the willingness to obtain certification within 6 months of employment
  • Must be able to pass Criminal Offender Record Information & background checks
  • Valid driver\'s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to bend, kneel, and stand up from the floor unassisted,
  • Ability to navigate various home environments, including climbing stairs and maneuvering through narrow spaces The work schedule can be flexible
