Job Description

Category Schools - SLPA Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting high school students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other learning differences in a specialized, student-centered environment. This contract opportunity runs from late August 2026 through late June 2027 (subject to the school year calendar), with a primary assignment at a specialized high school program in Ludlow. Here, you'll focus on fostering independence and communication skills for students benefitting from alternative approaches outside traditional settings.
Key Qualifications & Ideal Experience:
Current licensure/certification as required by state regulations. Previous experience working in a school setting as an SLPA or SLP-CF. Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices. Strong ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and tailor services to meet individual student needs. Commitment to empowering students to build essential life and communication skills.
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver direct speech and language support to high school students in a highly supportive, non-traditional classroom setting. Implement and monitor AAC strategies and devices, training staff and collaborating with families as needed. Document therapy progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings. Contribute to a positive, constructive team environment focused on student growth and independence. Adapt interventions and resources to address a wide variety of communication and learning styles. This position offers a 32.5-hour work week, aligning with the school calendar and providing consistency for work-life balance.
