Category Schools - SLPA Job Type Contract To Hire Embark on a rewarding opportunity to support students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in a school-based setting just outside Williamsport, MD. This contract-to-hire role encompasses the full academic year, making it ideal for those eager to grow their career while making a meaningful difference in children's lives. Desired Skills & Qualifications:
Associate's degree from an accredited SLPA program or equivalent qualification. Valid SLPA license or eligibility for licensure required by the state authorities. Prior experience providing support in school environments preferred. Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal abilities. Strong commitment to fostering student development and success. Comfortable collaborating with supervising Speech-Language Pathologist and multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the SLP in conducting group and individual therapy sessions as instructed. Prepare therapy materials, modify activities, and document progress toward IEP goals. Support the implementation of speech and language interventions tailored to students' needs. Track and report on student progress, maintaining accurate records in compliance with school and district guidelines. Collaborate with teachers, other staff, and families to maximize student learning and communication outcomes. Conduct screenings and follow-up tasks under the supervision of a licensed SLP.
