Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract A rewarding contract opportunity is available for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in Detroit, MI, to provide essential support over the summer months. This position focuses on delivering compensatory services due to a colleague's leave of absence, offering an impactful chance to contribute to the communication development of students during a critical period. This role primarily serves students in Kindergarten through 5th grade, with additional support provided to six students in a hybrid program ranging from 8th to 12th grades. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in a school setting, holding credentials such as
SLP - CCC, SLP
- CFY, or equivalent school-based licensure.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting speech and language assessments and therapy sessions aligned with individual student needs. Designing and implementing intervention plans to support communication goals. Collaborating with educators and families to ensure continuity of care and effective communication strategies. Documenting student progress and preparing necessary reports in compliance with educational guidelines.
Qualifications and desired experience:
Certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist with school-based licensure. Experience working with K-12 students in a school environment. Ability to adapt services to meet diverse learner needs, including hybrid program formats. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. This contract begins in June, with the end date to be determined based on program needs.
